Its been a 3 year love affair between TIRK and Milan based Krautrock inspired Disco-heads The Love Supreme. After two well received TIRK 12” releases, a ton of gigs and an A&R email stream to reach the moon and back…. The Love Supreme album is soon upon us. As a taster of what is to come, first up is ‘Sugar’.

Our Italians mix things right up with vocals from UK based Ben Smith (Fug, Nuphonic) and inspirations from early 80’s New York underground. The original features a foot-stomping single note bass, underpinning Talking Heads rhythms and synthesizer. Ben’s staccato, punchy, on-the-beat vocal just adding just enough flavour as to interfere with the groove.

Portuguese man-of-the-moment Social Disco Club takes things down an entirely different route. Humberto adds in some nifty rhodes and a helping of lazy-house sensibilities. Zooming in on an un-used Backing vocal track from the original (a la the verse in Prince’s 1999) he turns in one of our favourite remixes this year.

Just to remind you of the roots of the Love Supreme sound we’ve snuck ‘The Eternal’ a Krauty synth floor jam on as well. The dub version of ‘Sugar’ also makes an appearance in the digital package too.

The album ‘New Millennium Freaks’ is out soon on TIRK.
